Calling all Young Professionals,
This year, Phi Beta Kappa National will hold the annual virtual Key Connections event in September to serve as a kick-off for many regional Key Connections events.
Following National's event, PBKNCA YP, will host our annual virtual Key Connections event, "Let's Chat About Your Career Journey", on October 16th, 3 p.m. PDT. The theme of this event will be NETWORKING!
The virtual event will be held over Zoom and the duration of the event will be 1 hour and 10 minutes. There will be two guest speakers, Ka-Tye Koo and Dr. Tina Etcheverry.
They will speak for the first 40 minutes of the event to share their personal and professional stories, as well as their career advice. During the last 20 minutes of the event, each attendee will be assigned to a breakout room based on their specified professional interests.
Meet our speakers!
Ka-Tye Koo
Ka-Tye is the Director of Operations and Advisor Development at Team Hewins - an independent financial advisor firm headquartered in Redwood City, CA. He is also a Principal of Team Hewins and a member of the Client Experience Team. In his role, he oversees the teams responsible for investment operations and client servicing functions. He is also responsible for supporting the growth and development of the firm’s next generation financial advisors. In his downtime, Ka-Tye likes to bake sourdough bread, play golf, or enjoy a book over coffee.
Ka-Tye earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis with a minor in Communications.
Dr. Tina Etcheverry
Tina Etcheverry works as a consultant with Biotech companies, providing consulting services for product development strategies. Her projects range from working with the University of Botswana to develop cattle vaccines, to a virtual start-up company involved in designing a new oncology drug. As part of her work as a scientist, she led the international efforts to launch 3 biotech drugs, working closely with Health Authorities both in the U.S. and Europe and providing tech transfer expertise to international partners. She retired from Genentech after 25 years.
Dr. Etcheverry earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cornell University.
