George Burton Norall (Burt)

March 29, 1932 - December 31, 2021

George Burton Norall (Burt) passed away peacefully with his family close at hand on December 31, 2021 at the age of 89 in Palo Alto, California.

Burt always made education a priority. He earned degrees at UC-Berkeley (BA) and Stanford University (MA), and was a teacher, principal, and school administrator in Menlo Park, Portola Valley, Berkeley and Daly City schools. He valued the committed efforts of teachers and worked to facilitate challenging school programs and the support of teachers. It was important to him to reach out and communicate with parents and students.

In 2003 Burt established the PBKNCA Norall Family Scholarship. Burt chose to fully fund one of our scholarships each year because he has seen how dedicated Maria and other Board members are, and he knew the full amount would actually go to a deserving student.

Burt grew up in Richvale, California, a small Swedish community near Oroville. He valued the family and community support it offered.

He is survived by his wife, Maria, his son, Steven, daughter in-law, Melanie, his granddaughter, Zoe, and nieces, Rogene Klenck and Rhonda Dollar - all whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Norall and Effie Anderson Norall, sister Margene Grantz, brother in-law Leland Grantz, and baby sister, Rogene Norall.
